ASK Translation, one of the UKs leading translation
houses is moving into the City.
"This is a very exciting time for ASK, after
17 years of trading and with a majority of our clients now
London based, we feel it is time to focus on the capital," said
Gary Keens, ASK's founder and managing director.
"Not only are we moving into London, we
are negotiating with four London based agencies with a view
to purchasing them, and I am very pleased announce that we
have just struck a deal to purchase one of them."
"We already have a fantastic customer services
and project management team. This, coupled with an infrastructure
we believe is second to none in the translation industry, gives
us the opportunity to grow by acquisition, with the aim of
becoming Europe's top translation company."
ASK was established in 1988 from an upstairs
bedroom of an ex-council house when Gary was just 24 and has
grown to be a leading UK translation provider. This growth
included successfully purchasing three small agencies in the
North West in the 1990s. "I am extremely proud of the
relationships we develop with our clients," said Gary, "This
year three clients that we have been providing work to for
over 15 years are joining my staff and I at our Christmas meal,
which pays testament to our customer service."
ASK's website, www.translate.co.uk has testimonials
from many satisÎed customers only too glad to
extol their virtues. Always trying to be innovative in their approach to business
they are currently working with customers in developing an ethical loyalty
rewards scheme which they hope to launch in 2006.
Based at their self owned bespoke 7,500 square
foot head ofÎce in East Anglia, they are one of the few UK
translation companies to have an in-house typesetting and internet
studio able to produce work in most electronic formats.
ASK's studio works on both Apple Macintosh and
PC platforms and produces desktop publishing and web publishing
work for other translation companies as well as many media
and advertising companies. They also have their own Linux web
server. Among the many electronic formats translation work
can be returned in are QuarkXPress, InDesign, PDF, HTML and
XML. This work can be produced in-house in virtually any language
including Arabic, Bengali, Chinese, Farsi, Greek, Gujarati,
Japanese, Korean, Punjabi, Russian and Thai.
Their many year's of studio experience includes
typesetting brochures, adverts, posters and manuals. They also
specialise in delivering translated websites and e-commerce
sites completely formatted. This has included delivering two
database driven websites in Korean and Chinese over the last
six months, where they have liaised with each customer's IT
team and worked directly onto their servers, to ensure that
this complex encoded work reads correctly online.
The majority of ASK's London work is highly conÎdential
commercial, Înancial and legal translations, and their clients
often need them to be Texible and able to work to extremely
tight deadlines.
Gary says: "Our clients need the conÎdence
of using a long established high quality translation company
such as ourselves and, I feel we can best serve all our London
clients from the square mile rather than East Anglia. I am
also planning to open a West End ofÎce in the next 12 months
to further demonstrate our commitment to London."
